Emerging from 19 years worth of singalongs while racking up more than half a million miles in a van, comes The Hooten Hallers’ 7th official full length album entitled Van Jams Vol. 1. This collection of songs both resonated with and influenced The Hooten Hallers and spans across decades of rock, punk, country, soul, R&B, and indie but are all delivered with the signature sound that fans have come to expect from the band: dueling vocals between John Randall’s powerful, gravely lows and Andy Rehm’s buttery high tenor, jangly electric guitar, pounding drums, and soaring bass lines on the baritone sax. One could be taken aback by the pairing of Roky Erickson meets David Bowie meets Morphine meets George Jones, but the band’s wide ranging musical tastes only serve to bring the listener on a strangely cohesive ride and shows just how far this trio can push the limits of what’s musically possible. This album is the embodiment of an epic road trip that has been taken and will be taken for years to come.
Van Jam Vol. 1 was recorded in 2025 in Centro Cellar Studios in Columbia, Missouri.
